The Best Hostel in Bandung.

Unfortunately i cannot recommend any hostels. But if you have to, try Pinisi Backpacker Hostel, i stayed there because it’s relatively cheap and it was within walking distance from the train station. If your budget is a bit higher, look up the hotels i’ve listed here.

The Best Hostel in Yogyakarta.

Yogyakarta BnB. From $5/night
Why is it one the best in Indonesia?

Not that it’s because i co-owned the place. But because i know that our team at Yogyakarta BnB will assist you like their own family. The place is basic and quiet, nothing luxurious, but you will find everything you need as a traveler or digital nomad. It’s not a party hostel, but it’s definitely a home away from home. Trust me. We will make your travels in Indonesia memorable.

The location itself, it’s right in the heart of Yogyakarta City, where the tourism and local life intertwined. Easy access from/to Stasiun Tugu and Stasiun Lempuyangan. The famous Malioboro street is only a stone’s away. Find out why it has become one of the highly rated Hostel in Yogyakarta for two consecutive years since the day we open our door! Click here to check today’s rate.

The Best Hostel in Bromo.
NONE! Bromo is infested with tourism mafia, worst ones. They know there will be either domestic and international tourist visiting Bromo all year round to see the sunrise. So the local homestays and hotels don’t even bother to maintenance the room and facilities nor give a proper service to the guest since most of the travelers are only there for a few hours only. So my best suggestion is take the train (not bus) from Yogyakarta to Malang to avoid staying in Bromo. Find yourself a nicer accommodation in Malang and do a one-day tour to Bromo to see the sunrise. So, once again, DO NOT SLEEP IN BROMO, NOR PROBOLINGGO! But if you have found any hostel in Bromo that you can recommend to other travelers, please let me know.

The Best Hostel in Bali.

Cara-Cara Inn. From $10/night.
Why is it one of the best in Indonesia?
Superb facilities! Cara-Cara Inn is recently open and it’s definitely built for Instagram posts. The rooms are extremely clean and modern. And they also have awesome swimming pool. Check out their IG and find out more.

If you’re feeling something fancier like staying in a villa with a private pool and rice paddy view, there are plenty listed on Airbnb. Go search properties that are located in Canggu and Ubud area, you won’t be disappointed. I totally recommend Airbnb in Bali and you better book in advanced! Sign up for Airbnb and get $25 off your first adventure. Here’s my invitation link: https://abnb.me/e/jTOpyCWjuL

The best hostel in Gili Trawangan (Gili T).

My Mates Place. From $12/night.
Why is it one of the best in Gili T?
My Mates Place has been named as the liveliest hostel in the island! Gili Trawangan is the party island, so why not staying at the most social place in the island. But if you’re not planning to party, don’t go to this island. Really. Click here to find out more.

Nowadays, there are more travelers prefer to stay in Gili Air because Gili T can be a bit too much. If you’re traveling with your partner, you can look up Gili Meno. I call this one; the honeymoon island. Therefore, if you’re traveling alone, avoid staying in Gili Meno. and Yes, Gili means Island in local dialect.

The best hostel in Lombok

Pipes Hostel. From $9/night
Why is it one the best in Indonesia?
Their chill vibe and it has a skate bowl! There are not a lot of option for budget travelers in Lombok island. Most of the accommodations are basic, if not basic, then it will cost you more than you normally pay. Hence, Pipes Hostel made into this list, it is one of the good ones in Kuta area. If you are looking for a place to stay short or long term, this is the place for you. Pipes Hostel has the most chill ambiance and a good place to socialize in Kuta area. The best hostel in Labuan Bajo – Flores

Dragon Dive Komodo Hostel. From $11/night

Excellent outdoor common areas! No need to go anywhere else. This is the place you’d like to be if you have just arrived in Flores. Dragon Dive Komodo Hostel has a prime location, while other hostels, can be located farther up on the hill side. You can easily walk to Dragon Dive Komodo Hostel from the harbor. Dragon Dive Komodo Hostel has everything, from clean modern rooms, friendly staff, to day tours. The price might be slightly higher, but they are trustworthy.
